"I could live in that crescendo"

At a recent event I facilitated, I overheard one participant say to another “I could live in the crescendo” referring to the peak level of volume and tone created in the “Arc of Sound” music-scape. Some of us like peak experience, or have a craving for mystery, or a need to feel extreme sensation. Perhaps there is a yearning for doing something with the entirety of one’s being. As someone who has been in recovery for over 20 years, I understand the impulse behind these drives. As a therapist and teacher, I am interested in exploring healthy ways to experience these feelings. The Arc of Sound is a therapeutic sound and wellness workshop that can activate these sought after sensations in a healthy, clean, and sustainable manner.  This is the driving force behind my mission to deliver this modality to groups and individuals.

I believe that people have their own unique inner resources to heal and re-embrace their lives.

Since 2000 I have been on a quest to study a variety of approaches to creative expression and wellness for the achievement of self-expression, stress reduction, and the regaining of personal power.

In 2010 I received my Masters degree in Art Therapy from the School of Visual Arts in NYC.  While there, I gained valuable experience using art stress reducing breath work and stretches in hospitals - supporting male and female veterans, people living with cancer, dementia, and other challenging diagnoses. It was clear that art therapy and yoga provided a space for relaxing, and an expressive outlet for physical pain and deep emotions that were nearly impossible to put into words.

After moving to Bucks County, PA, I began working with adolescents in residential treatment centers, who have lived through traumatic circumstances; again, the power of creative expression, movement, and free choice have proven to be instrumental in his clients lives moving forward.

Since 2015 my work has been dedicated to a growing practice and wellness center, HeartWell House Expressive Therapies, located in Southeastern Pennsylvania. At this time I began incorporating sound into both private sessions and larger group settings.  I observed the the profound sharing from participants and was instantly intrigued to explore this medium further.  As my Art Therapy and class schedule are contained at our center, the Arc of Sound brings me to various venues including Universities, corporate events, domestic violence survivor centers, yoga studios, private homes, retreat centers and more. I am a forever student on this path and can’t wait to learn more from the people who walk through our doors, or from those who invite me into their spaces.
